Brawn #2 at Staple 201o!

STAPLE!

Wow! Has it already been a year? I guess time flies when you've been busy creating your next comic. I'm really excited to attend Staple again this year, given all the progress we've made.

What progress you ask? Well, I'm finally putting the finishing touches on the long awaited next issue of Brawn and will have plenty on-hand during the Staple Independent Media Expo this Saturday, March 6th at the Monarch Event Center near Highland Mall. We've got a new writer, Ron Bates, fleshing out the Brawn storyline and we're really excited about the direction he's taken the character. I think you will be too. As a bonus to our Grey Matter readers, stop by the Cranium Comics booth during the hours of 2:00pm and 4:00pm to receive $1 off any purchase over $5. Just print this email out and present it with your purchase and you're all set.

Latest News & Events

In addition to Brawn #2, we've run out of our limited edition first issues BUT have replenished our supply with with a less expensive version. Despite being a dollar cheaper ($3), you'll still get the entire 24 page, 4-color comic in all its original glory.

Another project we're really excited about is a new comic in development called The Curse. This new title is expected to be released and available by next year's expo (hopefully sooner). Without giving too much away, the story revolves around a simple, life-changing encounter between two people on a bus. Sound uneventful? Believe me, you won't want to miss this one!

Over the past year I've had the opportunity to team up with Kieth Quinn (Local Heroes, Playtime Projects, Heroes Incorporated) to create a podcast called Part-Time Comics. Now on it's 18th episode, the podcast is about two guys creating comics while still keeping their day jobs. Topics include marketing methods for comics, repurposing your art, preparing for a convention, creating a web presence, getting motivated, and much, much more. We will be selling the first 16 episodes in MP3 CD format at our booth for a very reasonable price. Be sure to check that out as well.

Again, thank you everyone for stopping by the booth and checking us out again for the third year. We'll keep trying to push the envelope with our content and stories, so keep checking back. Drop me a line if you've got something on your mind or just want to say "hi." I always love hearing from folks.

Take care and keep supporting the indie comic scene!

Sincerely,
Anthony Rezendes
